The UK's railway system has introduced artificial intelligence technology for the first time, developing an Automated Deer Detection and Deterrent System (ADDS) that successfully prevents nearly 6000 deer from entering railway areas, ensuring railway safety. This system was collaboratively developed by Network Rail and London North Eastern Railway, utilizing 127 cameras, 90 ultrasonic alarms, flashing red and white lights, 10 Wi-Fi routers, and portable power supplies to monitor deer movements in real-time and drive them away. Since its implementation, the system's real-time monitoring footage has effectively stopped deer from approaching the railway, reducing animal intrusions.
